The J.S. Brown Mercantile building was designed by renowned Denver architects Gove & Walsh (Littleton Creamery, Union Station center) and constructed in 1899 for John Sidney Brown's wholesale grocery business. As a fine example of 19th century commercial architecture, it was added to the National Historic Register in 1988.
