Living Close to Where you Work in Greenwood Village

The city was founded in 1950. Over the years it has grown from a rural village to a community with a passion to get bigger. Becoming a home rule city in 1972, it also organized a parks and recreation department for the benefit of the citizens.

The eastern section houses multiple covenant controlled subdivisions. The western section has much open space and is "almost rural", white either side is flanked by the areas most expensive real estate in south metro Denver. It has a population of nearly 14,000 residents which grows to "almost 40,000 during the daytime due to the large business environment.

Public Schools and Higher Education

The area is served by two school districts, Cherry Creek School District, east of Holly Street and Littleton Public Schools, west of Holly Street. Serving the community are two high schools, three middle schools, five elementary schools and one private school. In addition, there are several higher education offerings in the area including Metropolitan State College and Regis University.

The DTC

In the heart of the community is the Denver Technological Center. Founded in 1968, it is the location of hundreds of businesses and corporations. Some well-known employers are U.S. West, Great Western Life, Microsoft, First Data corporation and RE/MAX International, just to name a few.

For the most part homes have upscale prices, although it's possible to find affordable town homes and condos in the area along the I-25 corridor.
